Simple Morning Habits for Less Stress and More Energy
How your morning starts can shape your entire day. If you’re rolling out of bed already behind, running on caffeine, and feeling overwhelmed, it’s time for a reset. Good news: You don’t need a major routine overhaul to feel better. Just a few smart shifts can help you start your day with more clarity, energy, and focus.
Try these three simple habits to shift your mornings:
- Start screen-free
Give yourself at least 10 minutes before checking your phone. This helps your nervous system stay calm and focused instead of diving straight into stress mode. Stretch, sip water, or step outside for a moment instead.
- Drink water before coffee
As Coach Jacqueline always says, “Water before coffee folks!” You lose hydration overnight, so drinking water first helps your body wake up naturally and supports energy levels. Your coffee will still be there, we promise. Plus, research is showing that delaying caffeine intake to 90 minutes after you wake prevents the mid-morning crash.
- Move your body
Even five minutes of movement can activate your muscles, regulate your stress hormones, and lift your mood. Try a walk around the block, a quick yoga flow, or even just some light stretching. Or, take it a step further and start your day with a visit to the club, a studio class, or session with a personal trainer to build the habit.
Your mornings don’t need to be perfect. Just consistent enough to help you feel your best. Because when your morning works, everything else feels better.
