At NFC, we believe fitness is important at any age, which is why we offer Kids in Motion programs to our members. These fee-based classes are designed for children 3 – 12 years old and are intended to boost metabolism, strengthen muscles, and help develop balance and flexibility. Classes vary by location and time but may include classes such as Fit Kids, Strong Kids, Beginner Karate, and Tumble/Cheer. This conditioning workout class is designed to increase stamina and cardio endurance through short bursts of high-intensity activities. Kids will also focus on building strength and coordination through drills, circuit stations, group exercises, and fun games. Your kids will be having such a good time they won’t realize they’re getting in shape.
STRONG KIDS (7-12 years)
Kids will build strong bones and muscles in this class with resistance and body-weight training. This class teaches muscle names and introduces proper form and techniques for executing exercises such as crunches, push-ups, lunges, and squats.
Children will learn the basics of karate kicks and punches with the goal of building self-esteem. Proper attire is required for this class. Training uniforms, traditionally called gi, are available for purchase through NFC.
This class teaches basic cheerleading and tumble skills like chants, jumps, and dance routines. Tumbling activities will vary based on experience and knowledge. All activities aim to increase core and upper / lower body strength, as well as flexibility.
