National Fitness Center COVID-19 Update

Update April 15, 2020

This announcement affects all National Fitness Center and Court South clubs.

Dear Valued Members,

We apologize for any delays you may be experiencing. Our offices are closed with no one to process any requests at this time. We are keeping track of everything that comes in, and we will address all requests upon reopening. We have been told that the reopen date will now be May 1st according to the mandate by Governor Bill Lee.

You and your family’s health and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to us. We are not charging membership, personal training, or PHIIT class dues for April. During this closure, we have been deep cleaning the facilities and handling maintenance around the gym so we will be better than ever once we are able to reopen our doors. We are all very positive and know that no matter what, we will get through this and come back stronger than ever!

We want to encourage you to visit us on social media and participate in our workouts and community. With all the changes taking place in our lives right now, it is so important to stay active and maintain a sense of community. Exercise helps energize you and your family, strengthen your immune system, elevate your mood and reduce stress. Connecting with others in this time can strengthen bonds, create new friendships, and keep us socially stimulated no matter our physical distance.

We are updating our social media accounts daily with live workouts, training tips, and more. Follow us on Facebook {if you can’t catch us live – all videos are archived here: Facebook Live Videos }, Instagram [@natfit1], and YouTube. If you are worried we do not have your correct email on file please email here with your first and last name and correct email.

We will continue to provide you with at-home workout options and guidance until our operations resume so you can stay active and connected to our community.

We will get through this together, even while we are apart. We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as is safe to do so. Thank you for your loyalty, patience, and understanding in these unprecedented times.

Yours in Health,

Team NFC

Dear NFC and Court South members,

Your health has always been and will continue to be our first priority. We believe it is important to communicate the steps we are taking to keep the entire community safe with direction from the CDC.

WHAT WE ARE DOING TO KEEP YOU SAFE:

  1. We have increased our cleaning procedures on top of our deep cleaning performed each night to include sweeps throughout the day solely dedicated to disinfecting and cleaning the surfaces in the club with which members, guests, and employees are most frequently in contact with to reduce exposure to germs.
  2. We use “Maxim Facility +” for cleaning. This is a hospital-grade germicidal cleaner and disinfectant. This is the same product used in hospitals and Knox County Schools.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

  1. Wash your hands before and after a workout with hot, soapy water for 20 SECONDS (roughly the happy birthday song twice through).
  2. Make sure to wipe down equipment handles and grips with spray bottles and paper towels provided before and after use.
  3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  4. If you feel the need to cough or sneeze please do so into your flexed elbow/shirt. If you cover your mouth with your hands, immediately wash your hands.
  5. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  6. If you feel sick, please stay home.

It is important to remember that everything we’ve read and heard indicates that COVID-19 is a respiratory virus and is transmitted through respiratory droplets. It’s important to understand that it is not transmitted through sweat.

Our intention is not to cause any undue concern, as the CDC has indicated that risk to the general American public remains low. However, we will continue to vigilantly monitor the evolving situation and make decisions to ensure we can meet our obligations to our community and maintain the health and well-being of our employees, members, and guests.

Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe and clean.

– Sincerely, The NFC Family
