Classes are structured for the beginner to intermediate exerciser for anyone seeking a low impact aerobic workout. Free weights are used to incorporate resistance training and core strengthening exercises strengthen the stabilizers of the spine. Stretching concludes the class. Lasts 45-50 minutes.

You work flat out in 3 to 5-minute blocks, and take breaks only long enough to gulp some air and get right back to work. that teach them a new skill or activity and build strength, stamina, and flexibility through play. KIDS IN MOTION provides a variety of personalized and innovative fitness and wellness classes exclusively for children 3-12 years old.

SAQ Training improves an athlete’s overall strength, balance, stability, coordination, quickness, and speed.
At the core of SAQ Training is a series of drills and specific exercises that develop the body’s core muscle groups and the neuro-muscular pathways that control athletic movement.
When school gets out for the summer, kids are looking for a vacation of fun, including playtime with friends, swim time in the pool, and tons of activities! We’ve got it all here at National Fitness Center! From swim lessons, fitness camps, sports, crafts, and games, we are sure to delight your little one! Throw in education on good nutrition, being healthy, and a little safety and self-defense, and you’ve got one exciting summer!
National Fitness Center/Court South offers a non-sanctioned year-round competitive swim team at select clubs. From August to May, we compete against teams from our own clubs. Practices are held at each team’s home club twice per week, with meets scheduled 1-2 times per month on a rotating schedule between the participating clubs.
We seek to promote fitness and self-respect in children and strive for fair competition, dedication, motivation, discipline and teamwork. All coaches have competitive swimming experience and hold current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR for the professional rescuer, AED and first aid certifications. Together, these coaches will lead the way to personal and team development both in and out of the water.
During the summer months, we are members of the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association and compete against other summer league teams in the Greater Knoxville Area. Additional fee required.
National Fitness Center/Court South offers both group and private swim lessons for members and non-members. Group lessons begin with children age 3 and up. Children are assigned to levels based on their age and ability.
LEVEL 1 is an introduction-to-water class and is for beginners who have never had any lessons before. The main goal is to help children get comfortable in the water.
LEVEL 2 is a basic water class and children should already be comfortable in the water. This class teaches children to float and swim short distances on both front and back, with and without the assistance of a float belt.
LEVEL 3 is an intermediate class that focuses on stroke technique. Students in level 3 are expected to swim 15 yards independently and have the ability to do some freestyle and backstroke.
LEVEL 4 is an intermediate-advanced class that covers all four of the competitive strokes. These students are working toward longer distances required for team and pre-team classes.
LEVEL 5 (or Pre-Team) is an advanced class for students who are working toward a swim team or want the challenge of a team without the commitment. Starts, turns and basic team knowledge are taught in conjunction with stroke technique.
NOTE: In addition to the strokes, safety around the water is also discussed in each level.
Private and semi-private lessons are available upon request for any age and any skill level to both members and non-members. Semi-private requests can be made for up to six students in one class. The outline for private and semi-private lessons comes from the student or the student’s parent and their desires for what they want to accomplish during their lesson times. Both private and semi-private lessons are purchased in packages of 6 lessons.
